Bill Steinberg

Bill brings more than 30 years of managerial experience to this work, with much of that time spent in senior leadership and board-level positions, including:

  • Executive officer with division management and operating responsibilities in a major regional bank.
  • Executive vice president and corporate officer in a leading management consulting firm helping corporate executives in major US and Canadian companies improve their competitive positions in the marketplace and manage their ability to deliver it.
  • Chief operating officer and chair of the executive committee functioning at the company’s interface of family ownership/control with all aspects of company strategy and execution in one of Wisconsin’s largest privately held companies.
  • President, chief operating officer, investor, and board member in a privately-funded early stage corporate technology venture.
  • Since 1976, Bill has served as an outside director on the boards of a number of privately and publicly owned companies, nonprofit organizations, and alumni advisory boards.

Bill’s long time interest is in helping companies sort out and resolve the often complex decisions associated with finding and establishing a fit between external market opportunities, company strategy, and effective internal structures for both governance at the board level and for reliable methods of management and decision making at the operating level. His time is split between working with clients and developing frameworks which support this work.

Away from the office, Bill’s time is given to working with kids with cancer. For more than twenty-five years, Bill has been actively involved as an officer and director of the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer. The MACC Fund has funded more than $23 million in pediatric cancer research. He also serves on the Medical School of Wisconsin’s Cancer Center Advisory Board.

Bill holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin. His early leadership experience was gained after college as Marine captain and fighter pilot serving tours of duty with the Fleet Marine Forces in the Atlantic and the Pacific.
